does medical esthetician make more than esthetician (non medical)?

how to become one? do i take more advanced skin care classes or does it have to be another program after i get licensed as an esthetician? i also would like to know what's the difference in salary between medical esthetician and esthetician. thank you so much for your help! much appreciated <3

How long does it take to become an Esthetician & the salary?

I live in NC & I am getting ready to go to school to become an esthetician. I love learning about the skin so this will be the perfect job for me! But I know it takes 1200 hours to get your license but how many months/year will it take probably? And what does the starting pay usually start out as? Or should I do cosmetology because they teach you about the skin also...right? which one has better paying salary. thanks

What is an expected salary for an esthetician?
Is anyone from the area? Do you have benefits? Retirement? Paid Vacations? I have been doing some research online and everybody seems to have differing opinions about the profession.

Can my employer chg my hourly rate and hours if I was hired fulltime at 36 hrs weekly and have wrked 2 yrs?

I live in SC. I work for a family owned Medical Spa as a Licensed Esthetician. I was hired as a fulltime employee working 36 hrs a week with benefits making an hour in May 2007. Three months later, my employer said they could not afford to pay the hourly rate and lowered it to hr with 20% commission over the spa making 00 in sales monthly. Two months later when we reached the goal it was changed to ,000 then ,000 then ,000. Needless to say, commision has never been received. A year later they agreed to raise my salary to .00 without commision. Now a year after the raise, they said since its summer and business has slowed they are lowering the rate back to hourly and want me to come in to work one hour before my 1st client and leave an hour past my last client. Some days that means working only 3 hrs a day. Others I work 6 or 8 hrs. It seems they benefit by me working longer days when there are clients and they also benefit when they have only 1 or 2 clients. Using me for the service. Im a single mom of 4 children and I was hired to work 36 hrs weekly. Ive been there 2 yrs. SC is an at will state so Im not sure what my rights are.

I need to.. find an employer.. or an area of business ... that works with you and around each semester. I am not sure.. whom does this.. or where to begin to look. My Second .. Large Concern.. I am an adult matured woman.. and I need to be able to pay rent.. utilities .. car expenses .. food.. gas.. etc. I can't afford ...to work minimum wage waitress jobs. I am not snobby.. but.. I have to be Realistic VS Homeless. I am not sure.. if Merchandisers or over night stock work..at Wallmart. is all I came up with.. maybe greeting card companies that set up at stores.. Its hard.. because each semester brings a new schedule... new times to take classes. I was getting sooo desperate.. that I was considering.. taking a short Esthetician Class that would get me a schedule that is flexible. What are your thoughts on this? Its a shame.. and sad to have to consider taking out a loan for ten grand for school... when I will later have to go for four years.. and repay on teachers salary... but that is the way it looks to be going. I can't as an adult take crumbs tossed at me. Ugggh... Hope Someone Has Ideas that are profitable... ones.. Thanks

Im thinking about becoming an esthetician. But…?

I was hoping that someone in the field or knows much about the field can give me some inside information. Like how is the money? Are you able to find a job fast? Is the pay only based on comission, hourly, or salary? Id really apprectiate whatever info you can give... Im really exctited but nervous cause i want something that can be a career not just another let down
