What is the average salary of a makeup artist that works in a salon?

I currently work for a makeup store but am interested in working in a salon. I have a makeup certificate, so far I only do makeup not cosmetology or esthetician and I keep reading everywhere that you have to be liscensed as either a cosmetologist or esthetician in order to work in a salon or spa is this true? Also, how do makeup artists at salons get paid (i.e. salary, hourly, tips...etc)? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

How to go about becoming a Medical Esthetician?

I know you'd have to go to beauty school and all to get your license, but what is it about becoming an RN first that makes a difference? Is it easier that way? Is it a higher salary? I'd like to know exactly how to go about becoming a medical esthetician.

I am searching for a new career path and and am pretty sure I want to persue being a medical aesthetician. I want to do something in the cosmetology/aesthetics field and through my research this seems to be the best paying area. I like the idea of working for a Dermatologist and wonder if there are any medical aestheticians that would like to tell me about how to persue this career. I would also like to know the pros and cons. I am not opposed to starting in a spa setting or such but want to eventually end up on the medical side. I am 30 years old with a bachelors degree in education. Would this make me more marketable? What kind of salary could I expect?

i am a little confused and need some opinions (but please dont be mean)

after trying a traditional college 3 different times... i need to look at some new options but im a little confused about what to do.

i am enrolled in a travel service management certificate program currently but i havent paid for it yet so my options are still open... problem is i have no desire to work in the travel industry when im out of the program and there are not many job opportunity or industry growth projected.

i have a passion for make up artistry ( its a hobby just for now ) and skin care... so i was thinking a esthetics might be good for me... problem is i dont know much about the salary or how the industry works.

so should i stay in the travel program or go find a esthetician school?

also any information as to what either of the job outlooks or industry is like please let me know.

also is it true that estheticism only live on tips?

I'm a licensed Esthetician interested in Cosmetology school do I have to complete full 1600 hours.?

I am thinking about enrolling in Cosmetology but wondering if it will make a huge difference in salary. I am not making much as an Esthetician but not sure if if the program will be too hard as I have 2 young kids. If I'm already a licensed Esthetician do I have to complete the Esthetics clock hours? I can't get any information at the schools without coming in for a tour. How much do Cosmetologists make?Thanks!

does medical esthetician make more than esthetician (non medical)?
