Should I do Aesthetician School?

I have been wanting to go to school for esthetics and am wondering if there is any one of you out there who have gone to school for this? Why did you choose this profession? Was there anything that you were uncomfortable with? Did you decide to go into business for yourself or into a salon? I am asking all of these questions because I cannot find anyone in my own city to ask and I want to know I am making the 100% right decision. I feel in my heart its what I want to do but I feel like there are some things I won't enjoy and may not make enough money to have all the important things in life. Thanks in advance! =)

question for estheticians/make up artists?

im really trying not to be nosey or anything, but I am pursuing my career as a make up artist/ esthetician and i live in arizona and will soon be moving to California within the next 2 years. does anyone know the average salary i could possibly make in those states? is there anyone in that profession that can give me somewhat of an estimate even if they dont live in those states? i would appreciate it

Has anyone ever regret going to beauty school?

I have a tough decision to make, but I don't know a whole lot about one of my options, which is attending a 1 year beauty school class. If I enjoy it, then I'll be doing more beauty classes after that. Has anyone out there ever regret going to beauty school? What are the pros & cons you have experienced with this profession?

I am middle aged and it's been a long time since I went to cosmetology school and I'm not quite sure how to get into this profession without going to school.

I was going to go to school for five months.. which is a good time period to aquire a skill.. for Esthetician.. but the economy has failed me there.. and I was not about to pay 10 grand for nothing.. to not find work.. or a few hours a week jobs. I was looking into Vet Tech. at a Community College.. however.. the state I live in only has an associate.. not a 6-10 month program. I am worried ... if I start to take classes for the Vet Tech.. something can happen bad financially to my situation.. and I will be up the creek without a paddle. I know.. there are no quick fixes .. I just wish the Vet Tech was less time to complete. With pre requisits it could take longer even.. going part time.. Mabe.. that isn't realistic at my middle age. But.. I wanted to do something I enjoy. ..but shorter term course... to get out and make some money... without sacrificing my happiness. Please Help..Thanks
Do You All.. think I should just.. go and take the 5 months program that leads to a lisence.. in Estheology..for skin and body treatments in order to make some money and work for myself in addition to on the side and not think about the money aspect of the cost of the program? OR... Do I take the long .......road.. towards Vet Technician.. which I love animals but honestly... from all I have read this can be an extremely sad profession on a regular basis?

What is a good gift for a Cosmetology student?

Hi!

My cousin is going to school for Cosmetology and I wanted to get her a good Christmas gift that would help her with her schooling.

My ideas so far are either a nice makeup train case or a set of really nice cosmetic brushes.

As far as the brushes are concerned, is there a specific type or brand that I should look for? I don't want to just go to Walmart and buy any old cheap set. I want to give her a nice set since makeup is part of her profession.

Which career should I choose?

So I am considering a career change. I am currently a licensed cosmetologist. I haven't practiced for about 6 years. I have been considering a career as an Esthetician or a Massage Therapist. Any advice from any professionals out there? Which one would be better, or both? I would like to practice in the South Carolina or Florida area. What are the pros and cons of each profession?

I didnt used to care about going to college. I graduated in 01 and now Ive wasted 6 years..and Im bearly?

interested in going back to school, but I get sad that Im so behind what I could be. I did go for my esthetician license, which is what I wanted to do, but its hard to start up your own business, and Ive sorta wished I didnt waste the time or money on that profession. I feel crappy. I think about going to school now, but Im ready to have a child in the next year or so, and then I will be busy with school, and then a new career. I just feel so lost and like I took the wrong path. I had no guidance, no one to push me. Now Im stuck with the results...
