Beauty School?

Im thinking of starting Beauty school, and becoming a Hair Dresser. Is there anybody who is one and can tell me about the feild? How do you like it? How many years does beauty school take? Is it a fun experience or hard?

Do you have to be good looking to be an esthetician?

It just seems like anyone who works in the field of hair or skin are always very attractive. So what if your not that attractive? Even when you go to make up counters in the mall they're always so good looking. They have beautiful skin ect... So is this field only for the pretty?
Just wanted to comment on H. Whenever I go to a cosmetic counter the woman are always attractive. And the hair dresser I go to all the hair dressers look like models and the receptionists too. I also went to a plastic surgeons office to have liposuction and all the receptionists there were good looking as well. So how do you explain that?

Moving to Florida? Help! (Orange, Brevard, or Seminole county)?

I'm currently 19, but have been planning to move to Florida when I turn 22. I have been wanting to do this since I was very young, so I know it's what I want.
Currently, I live in Central New Jersey. (In a pretty good, almost country area) I am going to school to become a Cosmetologist, so I'm aiming towards working in a Salon or Spa as either a hair dresser or Esthetician, so I'm suuuure I can find SOME kind of work in Florida.
I already have some credit built up and am working on putting money away for the move.

I do have family in Tampa and Jacksonville, but I'm not really concerned about being close to them.

I am absolutely in love with Orlando, and have wanted to move there for the LONGEST time, but I am a little concerned about actually living there.
Does anybody know a good area for me to move to? I wanted to be in either Orange County, Seminole County, or Brevard County.
Tips?

where can i get experience before beauty school?

i am going to be 16 here pretty soon, and i'm wanting to get a job that might help me before i graduate from high school and go to beauty school. i'm planning on becoming a hair dresser, but then soon opening up my own salon. i just really don't want to go into beauty school with 0 experience.

RN or esthetician?????????

What is the better job.. pros & cons? can you be both? what is the pay? where and how long do you have to go to school to be an esthetician? I always wanted to be a dermatologist... So when I heard about the esthetician job I was excited cause i knew it was in the same field.. Would it be hard to find a job like in a dermatologists office or even for a hair dresser? Any schools in Virgina or kentucky or is it part of cosmetology school?? Need Advice!!!

Can I open up a hair salon if I’m not a hair dresser?

I want to hire hair dressers and estheticians but I want to run the place. Is that possible? Have you ever seen it done, or does the owner/manager always have to be a hair dresser?

How do I get prepared for hair styling and makeup artistry?

When I grow up, I want to be a makeup artist,hair dresser or an esthetician. Im only beginning high school so its not like I can go get a job at a salon or something..
What are some things I can do to get used to makeup and maybe get good at applying it and stuff?
I watch a lot of videos on applying makeup and doingg hair on youtube and such, so I can kind of study makeup and hair.
What else can I do ?
