do you need a cosmetology to own an esthetics spa in NYC?

I have Make-up certifications and just registered for esthetician school, but I was wondering does anyone know if you have to have a cosmetology license (hair) to open up your own business. I do not plan on want hair services but I was told from someone that this is true. Someone let me know! lol

How to transfer Cosmetology license between States?

I have a Cosmetology license in Washington State, and now that I moved to California, I would need to transfer my license to Cali's. I'm clueless of what to do! Any help would be appreciated. Esthetician School ?'s?

Hey so I really wanna be a makeup artist but unfortunately there are no schools in my area that focus exclusively on makeup, the only options I have are too go 2 school for a cosmetology license, or an esthetician license. I was just wondering how much makeup does esthetician school actually cover because I know that they cover a whole lot more than makeup, and I'm wondering how much I will actually learn, will I learn special effects makeup and the whole deal?

I'm looking into different colleges, but I don't really know what to do after I get my cosmetology license next year. I'm being pressured to start applying for colleges by next September. Do I go to a trade school to take it further, or is there an actual college I can apply to? Cosmetology is definitely what I would like to do with my life. I don't just want it as a fall-back.
