I want to live in Orange, Seminole, or Brevard county in Florida?
I'm currently 19, but have been planning to move to Florida when I turn 24. I have been wanting to do this since I was very young, so I know it's what I want.
Currently, I live in Central New Jersey. (In a pretty good, almost country area) I am going to school to become a Cosmetologist, so I'm aiming towards working in a Salon or Spa as either a hair dresser or Esthetician, so I'm suuuure I can find SOME kind of work in Florida.
I already have some credit built up and am working on putting money away for the move.
I do have family in Tampa and Jacksonville, but I'm not really concerned about being close to them.
I am absolutely in love with Orlando, and have wanted to move there for the LONGEST time, but I am a little concerned about actually living there.
Does anybody know a good area for me to move to?
Tips?
Thank you<3

Fashion Is My Passion-But I Only Want Your Face
I love beautifying the face, sculpting the eyebrows, turning a face into a canvas. I also have a passion for skin care and applying false lashes.
My problem is this, I can only apply professional false lashes if I go to a class and get the certificate, but I have to be a cosmetologist or an esthetician to attend. I don't want to do hair, just everything else. What do I do?
I thought about just becoming an esthetician and maybe that will open enough doors for me.

Has anyone ever had a question not post?
I posted this question a couple of hours ago and am seeking opinions:
I am a licensed esthetician (skin care) and cosmetologist who wants to purchase a laser for aesthetic treatments (primarily for hair removal). These lasers have no worse complications for the patient than waxing or electrolosis, but my state medical board just announced 3 months ago that this laser-light technology could only be used by licensed physicians, PAs and CRNs. This is a cosmetic procedure and persons practicing electrology have been operating these aesthetic lasers for over a decade, but now, the medical community wants all the profits for themselves. I feel this is a violation - how can they announce that a non-surgical apparatus can not be used by persons well educated in skin care and skin conditions???? I am going to consult my attorney but wanted others' opinions on this matter. Thanks.
D - thanks for the answer. The problem my state medical board is having is that they cannot provide me with documentation of why aesthetic lasering is more dangerous than electrolosis. The Board of Cosmetology has since otld me they will look into this and the Medical Board told me it is still under investigation and to write a letter. I am waiting to see what the Cosmetology Board can do first. Thanks again.

The Board of Cosmetology did say that they need to look into this further. And the Medical Board is telling me that it is still under investigation, however, as it stands now, they have overtaken aesthetic lasering as their own. I'll have to wait and see what their next opinion will be. Thanks.

What does it take to become a makeup artist?
I am looking into several careers in art and makeup artistry definately seems like an option. Does anyone know how to become one or where to start? Tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I want to become a MAKEUP ARTIST, not a cosmetologist or esthetician. Later, I might be interested in doing hair or nails. I'm not really into specialty skin care or anything of that sort.

Why would Spa Busness Owners and Staff be synical to others trying to better themselves?
" I know..the economy is hurting right now.. and mabe this is not the right or perfect time to go back to school for certain occupations.. But.. I and other hope things will pick up and improve. I contacted this Spa.. actually 12.. one only replied back.. asking about the field with the economy.. and was told its hard .. because no one want to hire new grads? Well she and others were all new graduates at one time. As an Esthetician in WI.. unlike.. Cosmetology... we can work with our license on our own if we want. The spas expect you to do the leg work.. bring in all the busness then when your ready to leave .. you can't take with you the busness you brought in? How is that fair.. when an Esthetician.. is a Professional with a lisense who can work from home no over head.. bringing in all the clients.. Also.. if busness was bad or that slow.. how can the Spas afford to pay their employees then.. and why aren't they shutting down. As an esthetician.. you can contract yourself out to Theatres..Opera house.. that is more money.. If your brave.. enough to go into high end dancing establishments and escort services that is even more money.. they need these services for their busness and looks.. they make thousands a day. I don't know.. why these Spas are so.. caddy.. acting like we Estheticians that are recent graduates can't get clients alone...when the spa requests we do this for them.. Also.. these Spas cant supply hours.. and yet make you sign a clause to not work at another? When you have to pay your rent? It all depends .. on how persistant and what a go getter you are. You can sell yourself and services. Also.. products and baskets.. spa parties for kids..teens adults.. etc. Bridal Parties.. ideas are endless.. Should I not... let this experience with this email that was negative to get me down? If ... I were a cosmetologist here.. I would have no choice but to work under a spas license for two years before .. I could go it alone.. but .. I am not... and don't. Cheer Me On Friends.. I need the encouragement. Thanks

What is a cheap yet good beauty school I can attend in PA?
I live in Pennsylvania, and I want to be a cosmetologist. The school I wanted to go to was too expensive (,950!) and I've decided to look on here for advice. What is a reasonably-priced yet good beauty school for someone who aspire to become a cosmetologist like me?
Thanks!
