What are your opinions on being an Esthetician or Massage Therapist in Canada?

Hi, I'm planning to do a two year diploma on either Esthetics or Massage Therapist in Canada. Which one is more in demand? When I look at the job site, there are more jobs for Massage Therapist but I've heard most massage therapists experience a burn out after 2-3 years and it's bad on their bodies.

As for Esthetics...anyone in this line?

When is the right time to say this at a job your applying for?

I will be looking for Hair stylist/esthetician (Skin) jobs over the next month. I am getting married next October 2012. So there will be days that I need off to plan the wedding, go to appointments...and then there is the wedding it self, plus we are doing a week in Canada for our honeymoon. So, when I do tell the boss of this company that I'm applying to? There are days that I'm going to need off.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the process of getting into working for M.A.C cosmetics.

I live in Canada and I wanted to know if anyone out there has worked for them . I am presently an Esthetician looking for some part time work-(reason for possibly applying for MAC)- I would love to gain more knowledge and experience with Makeup.
Is it hard to get to work for them.. Is it commission based?
And how is the training. Any tips or additional info would be really great!!
I understand I would have to go to Montreal for this training..

What are my chances better that I have an Esthetician license?

How much do you get paid to work in a beauty salon?

I've been thinking about getting a certificate in beauty school, so i can work as an esthetician for waxing, nails and makeup.
I'm just wondering how much this kind of job pays when you're starting out? (i live in canada)
omg...honestly i think people dont even read the questions on here...i didnt say for hair ...i dindt say hairdressing..i said aestitician work..nails..makeup..waxing...body wraps...spa stuff. not hair.

Can a Practical Nurse use cosmetic lasers in Ontario, Canada?

I am a Practical Nursing student in my last year and I want to take an esthetician course next year. I am interested in becoming a Nurse Esthetician, but I was wondering if I would be able to take a course in Canada to be able to use cosmetic lasers, inject botox, and perform dermabrasions with the Practical nursing license rather than bridging to become an RN.
Also what other job opportunities are there in Canada with a Practical Nursing license and an Esthetician License?

Is a career as a Massage Therapist a good choice?

I am currently an esthetician/medical esthetician in Canada. I can do all esthetic services as well as laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, cellulite removal, photo facials, etc. I love what I do but was thinking about taking Massage Therapy and perhaps adding that title to my credentials. I am moving to the USA in a couple months as my husband is American and lives there. I noticed that the massage therapy program is only 6 months (as compared to 3 years of college here in Canada). If anyone currently works as a Massage Therapist, can you give me any info in regards to the MT therapy profession, if there are available jobs upon graduating, the pay, etc. Thank you all very much!

i have a college question?

ive been out of highschool for almost a year now, i took a year off to work. now im researching colleges i would like to attend.
ive decided that i would like to do esthetics, its something that i can see myself really enjoying (why do something for the rest of your life that your not gonna enjoy right?)
anyways, im looking at a bunch of different schools all over canada, and im relizing that some offer certian training that others dont. im mean, for example, this one school offers basically everything to need to be an esthetician but not like the "extra" courses that i would also like to take, such as lash extensions, electrolysis and medical spa procedures that others do (basic chemical peels etc..), but i would really like to go to this school since ive heard amazing things about it.
anyways (again lol) im just wondering if there are ways to take those "extra" courses separate? like does anyone know if there are classes you can sign up for training you fo these extra courses, or maybe if i go to the school i want and then go to the other school, could i take ONLY those classes i want since i would already have my esthetics diploma? would i only have to pay for those extra classes?

What high school courses do you need for cosmetology?

I go to school in Canada.
The high school i go to doesn't offer any beauty/cosmetology classes.
I was just wondering what courses are essential, or would help greatly.
