Dark circles and wrinkles under eyes. How do I get rid of them?

Not looking for an OTC late night tv product. I want something a bit more aggressive. That will last for a while. Aesthetician? Botox ? Laser? Cosmetic surgery if so, what procedure?

How do I get started in Medical Aesthetics?

I am an Esthetician, so I've learned how to do basic facials, micros, peels, waxing, lashes, make-up, etc. But I want to get into lasers, hair removal, botox, high strength chemical peels. I'm in Chicago, there isn't a school for it and all the places want an Esthetician with experience so where do I get it?

I want to work hands on in an aesthetician’s office, how do I do that?

An aesthetician is someone who performs the nonsurgical procedures that are replacing plastic surgery such as botox, restylane, and so on. This is a career I want to do and I want to get some hands on experience and work in an aesthetician's office. Where would I find someone who would be willing to hire me?

Should I stay in the beauty industry or go to med school?

Okay...I think I know the answer to this already, but I don't want to believe it. I currently work as an esthetician giving facials, waxing and selling skin care products. I love skin care, however I do not make enough money as an esthetician working in a small salon. To make good money I would probably have to work in a large upscale salon. I've tried that and didn't like it. It was catty, everything was very strict and controlled, and I worked with all women and a few gay men, i hardly got to make any decisions, and i was bossed around by people who weren't very intelligent and were fake.
my current situation is this: I work in a small salon with men and women and have my own esthetics room. I am quite happy, I get to make a lot of decisions, like the people I work with, etc. The problem is the money...I can't afford to move out of my parents house, as business increases in a year or two I may be able to. However it's never going to be a situation where I am "well off" and I have zero benefits.
I have been contemplating going to med school for dermatology. I am 22, have my bachelor's in psychology and graduated with a 3.78 gpa. I would have to take more science classes which I could finish in a little over a year while continuing to work. I am a good test taker and think I could do well on the MCAT. The problem is I am not a huge fan of science...I don't like anatomy, chemistry, physics. Should a person like/love these subjects to apply to medical school? They don't interest me very much. Skin care, skin diseases, skin cancer, lasers, botox, acne, etc interests me, but in order to be a derm I would have to go to med school. I can be a little squirmy around blood and guts, but maybe I could get used to it. I want to be successful, I am hard-working and intelligent, medical school does not sound fun to me but the end result may be worth it. Help! Any suggestions???

Why Sculptra Is A Major Advance In Skin Aesthetics

Author: Fred Andrews

Sculptra Aesthetic is an exciting option when it comes to correcting wrinkles, smile lines and other signs of aging or facial changes. FDA approved, Sculptra has the added benefit of helping collagen to regrow while gradually enhancing facial beauty. Although Europeans have had access to the advantages of Sculptra for over 10 years, it is relatively new - and has quickly gained popularity - in the United States. Unlike other fillers, which last only months, Sculptra can be very cost-effective, with results lasting for up to two years. No wonder it has been featured on major television shows and magazines from coast to coast, as well as internationally.

What do potential Sculptra clients need to know? It works over a period of time so results may not be quickly noticed at first. It can take a number of treatments over the course of several months (typically, three injections over several or more months). But clients find it is well worth the time involved because of the long lasting benefits. Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid so it is different from other fillers. Injections are often deeper, helping to maintain results for longer periods of time than fillers which are injected quickly. When it comes to the best results, sometimes quicker is not always better. Just ask the many satisfied Sculptra clients!

Admittedly, Sculptra is not a quick fix or miracle drug. It is primarily for use in treating lines around the nose and mouth as well as some chin wrinkles. But those who opt for those quick fixes often experience short-term results. Sculptra is the perfect alternative to that. Also, those other quick fix treatments don't reach as deeply into the dermis. Sculptra does. It doesn't contain any toxic materials and is not a toxin (like Botox). For those who always felt a bit nervous about Botox injections, Sculptra can set their minds at ease.

What are the other advantages of Sculptra? No allergy testing is required before treatment. It contains no animal or human ingredients. And - well worth repeatingĀ  - there are no toxins in Sculptra. No surgery or cutting of the face is required. Treatment is simple and the results are long lasting. It truly is as simple as that.

Because Sculptra treatments are done over a period of time, there's virtually no risk of allergic reactions, swelling or bruises. Clients can go about their normal lives, going to a special event the same day asĀ  treatment. No one will be the wiser. Meanwhile, collagen is building as facial lines gradually disappear. Check before and after photos of those who've used Sculptra and the difference is amazing, taking years off faces which had shallow to deep lines.

As an option to plastic surgery, Sculptra is an excellent choice. Not only does collagen grow and fill in sunken faces and deep lines but patients don't have the risk of a face that appears pulled tight, a real issue with some plastic surgery. Instead, the results are natural, with friends remarking on how young or rested a person looks. A significant difference? Definitely - and one that enhances appearance by using the patient's natural collagen. This is a major advance in skin aesthetics.

Is it best to get a facial or chemical peel on the same day of an event?

I want to look good for a photoshoot so am thinking of getting either botox or a chemical peel to make my skin look fresh and younger. Do the effects look best on the same day of the procedure?

can medical assistants preform all injections including botox in arizona?

I am a licensed esthetician and am furthering my career and want to do injections (all fillers/botox, etc) I live in arizona and am wondering if I can just go through the medical assistant program and then take a class on botox instead of taking the longer route and getting my LPN. I am curious to know if I can even administer the injections as a MA. I have contacted the board of nursing about 3 times and they haven't called me back regarding the scope of practice laws. I wouldn't want to take the LPN program courses and find out later I could have just gotten my MA certificate along with a botox class. Any help????
