which will be more beneficial when wanting to become a professional makeup artist? cosmo. or esthetics?

okay so ive been wanting to enroll in an esthetics (facial specialist) course for over a yr now. & i was really hoping to enroll this upcoming fall semester but the college i was focusing on told me they werent going to offer the esthetics class this YEAR! I already accepted my financial aid money so i can still forenroll classes just not that one ): i rlly dont want to wait a whole yr so basicly i was wondering if i should just take the cosmotology classes instead even though that takes longer than getting the esthetician certificate....my main career goal is to become a professional makeup artist. thats y i wanted to take the esthetics classes to learn about different skin types....i dont want anything like certification to hold me back wen trying to get makeup jobs in the future...so which will be more beneficial cosmo. license? or esthetics??

Im affraid I may have damaged my skin doing electrolosis?

i have (fine & small) indented lines & prick marks where the needle went in in a few places, im concerned that it may be permanent, is there anything i or an aesthetician can do to treat the skin & bring it back to normal?

i really want to go to beauty school to learn how to do hair, but idk how long it takes to go through the schooling? or how good the money would be to get a career in hair?? any answers will help..thanx :].

What would i have to major in to become a dermatologist?

I want to become a dermatologist but im not quite sure what i'd have to major in, in order to becom a dermatologist. Can anybody help me out by naming a couple of schools or websites i can go to.

Can I drop out of school and go into beauty school?

Im 16 & I wanna drop out of highschool im going into 10th grade.And when im 18 I want to go into beauty school and by then I will probly have a G.E.D or a diplomia.And since I live in ny,you dont need anything like that to go into beauty school.

Should Estheticians Wear Gloves?

Hello, I was enrolled in Esthetician school a few months back & had to take a leave of absence...When I started to do facials or any procedure where I was touching a client I used gloves...I felt safer using them. My instructor had told me that I should be comfortable touching other peoples skin without gloves...My question is are you an esthetician who uses gloves or not? And how would you feel if you were a client and your esthetician used gloves while working on you? Would you be offended? Or would you like the added security of proper hygiene?

Learning how to do brows?

I'm interested in learning how to do brows & starting a business. Does anyone know how I could get trained to do this? Do I have to be licensed or go to cosmetology or esthetician school?

Have you ever visited a nursing home and found the patients actually enjoying themselves as tho it were a spa?

I did recently. I kept looking and I kept seeing secret smiles, as though the patients were happy to be ill, happy to cause difficulties to the nurses and doctors (and getting off on yelling at them, too!!!), and happy to have people wait on them hand & foot, to have other people pay their bills ( since other people pay for them through taxes), overjoyed to cause others so much trouble.

Now, I can understand if the problem is unavoidable .... but .... it looked to me as though they were in a sort of "double diagnosis" situation.... they were both balmy and subnormal AND they were ill (from it / because of it.)

Which means what?? That some people are really ill and frail or injured - due to no cause of their own - and others are mentally frail and unstable ---- and therefore fall sick by themselves, and are "more to be pitied than censured," as someone once put it. And that it was as much a mental institution as a medical facility.

I had no idea!!!!

Has anyone ever regret going to beauty school?

I have a tough decision to make, but I don't know a whole lot about one of my options, which is attending a 1 year beauty school class. If I enjoy it, then I'll be doing more beauty classes after that. Has anyone out there ever regret going to beauty school? What are the pros & cons you have experienced with this profession?
