Why does the majority of America's youth value aesthetics so much more than they value education?
Is a large part of it due to the churches? It's not like most of them openly encourage you to pursue knowledge, since they tell you that their holy book has all the answers.

If 60% of them believe in YEC’ism then I would suggest there is an education vacuum and far from being a minority issue anti-intellectualism must be rife.

Whats religion got to do with it? Religion only comes into play with evolution, and the belief that there is a god. Since religion isn’t talked about in public school evolution would be the only thing they’d be ignorant of, but it’s still taught anyway… Try not to be all atheismo, and close minded my friend. Religious views have very little to do with our reality, but anyways… Were pretty much trained to value material over knowledge it’s a material world and America has a market based economy. Education isn’t emphasized as neccesary and healthy for your mind, but simply a means to aquire what you want so it falls short in terms of Aesthetics over Knowledge, but this doesen’t apply to everyone, though it still applys to enough that it’s deffinately a problem.
