What is the 411 on getting a massage at a health spa that serves men and women?

My experiences with having a massage have been limited. Most of the massages I have had in the past were for physical therapy. I got ultrasound and a few nurses that had chiropractor experience kneaded my back for medical purposes. My ex-girlfriends and my ex-wife also gave me massages as well. I have never been to a massage salon. I thought those were mostly for women as part of beauty spas. At the mall where I work nights and weekends, there was a display with various vendors selling products. One vendor was a beauty spa and advertised massages. I asked if they did massage for men and they said yes and the price seemed affordable. What is the deal with these places? I don't want to pay upfront and then have some man come in and no thank you because I don't want a massage from a man. I want a female masseuse. Do I wear a towel and do they do a full body rub down? It's not a massage parlor/escort sort of place so I don't want to do anything inappropriate. Do they avoid rubbing where I have my towel or is it full body? I did get a massage at a bachelor party the guys went to a strip club that had women that did massage. It was nice but I could only take my shirt off and had to leave the shirt on my arm. I told the girl who massaged me that I might check out some place like a spa because it was great. It is mostly to ease tension and I do have some lower back pain but not pain enough to do physical therapy. I think getting a massage now and then would help for stress relief. Do you get massage on a regular basis? How does it go? What are the rules? Obviously asking the masseuse out on a date after work would be taboo. I would prefer men's answers but women can also reply. Again, please do not confuse this with escort massage because that is not it.

Day Spa/Salon Owners I need some help?

Hi :) Im opening a day spa/salon in a little city in AZ (we have 1 main highway and 1 parkway the cuts over town), there are hair salons and asian nail places on every corner and 1 very old "day spa" where they offer massages, facials and body wraps. I will be offering hair, nails, massage, estitician, spa room etc. I am trying to bring a classy nice relaxing place to my little city, I was born and raised here and like the finer things in life, many friends, neighbors and business people are looking very forward to me opening. My problem I have 2 locations and need help picking the one that makes the most business sense.

Building #1...Is on a side road off the main hwy across the street from a side exit of a Super Wal-Mart center, its a beautiful brand new building but semi close to some old apartments and a big Dollar General building is next to this one. The other units in this building are leased by a restaurant, winery, mortgage office, and pottery place.

Building #2...Is a very nice 2 story strip mall on the main hwy the upper level is all office units and the lower level consists of big retail units. The other units that are being leased are a asian nail shop, a clothing boutique, a hair salon, a restaurant, anything medical, farmers ins, a lighting store and several others.

We are worried with 1 bc of location and 2 bc the competing hair and nails.

Please advise thank you :)

What are the pre-required courses for Speech Pathology?

I’m a freshman in college and I’m enrolled in all the pre-requirement courses for pre-med and nursing majors. I don’t feel like I’m on the right track because nursing is not the job I can image my self doing for life because I’ve always dreamed of working as a doctor in refugee camps. I love languages, and I’m more intrigued on getting my masters in speech pathology then apply for medical school. I’ve done a lot research regarding speech pathology studies. But I still feel insecure. If I’ve understood what I’ve read, then the pre-required courses for SPA are english, psy 1.pre-cal, bio for health science majors, chem.. 1a, Phys 202, Introductory Astronomy, and a Cultural Anthropology class. Then attend a B.A. program then a masters program. Right or am I completely misinterpreted what I’ve read :S
thanks for your time!

how much can a massage therapist working in a hospital or chiropractic setting make?

I got accepted into a massage therapy program and i'm really excited about it. although, it looks like male massage therapists in spa settings don't do as well as females. so it looks like my best bet is to get into a hospital setting or chiropractic office. what is the job like in these environments? what are the hours usually? how much can I expect to make straight out of school? will a medical setting even hire me straight out of school?

thanks.

How can I become a receptionist?

I'm 18, already finished my first year at a community college, and I currently have a job at a drugstore. Everyone says that I have excellent people skills. I am pretty good with computers. I would like to work at a salon or spa or something of the sort. . .anything EXCEPT in a medical setting, actually. How do I go about doing this?
