Can a person be a make-up artist, esthetician and a hairstylist?

I mean be professionally in all 3 of them? I love makeup, hair and skin care! I'm going to school for cosmetology and my dream is to have my own business, like bridal. But I always hear that you can only be good at one. Is that true?

When is the right time to say this at a job your applying for?

I will be looking for Hair stylist/esthetician (Skin) jobs over the next month. I am getting married next October 2012. So there will be days that I need off to plan the wedding, go to appointments...and then there is the wedding it self, plus we are doing a week in Canada for our honeymoon. So, when I do tell the boss of this company that I'm applying to? There are days that I'm going to need off.

do you need a cosmetology to own an esthetics spa in NYC?

I have Make-up certifications and just registered for esthetician school, but I was wondering does anyone know if you have to have a cosmetology license (hair) to open up your own business. I do not plan on want hair services but I was told from someone that this is true. Someone let me know! lol

What courses does one take to be able to practice laser hair removal, vein removal, tatoo removal etc?

I thought this was esthetician , is it ? but that seems to only deal with facials, i want to do more then that , more like laser stuff

Cosmetology VS Esthetician. Which JOB?

I am applying for a beauty school that offer Cosmetology and Esthetics Technology. I cannot decide on which would be better for me, I know I would love both of them BUT if I become a cosmetologist I will mostly be doing hair and I know a cosmetologist is also a licensed esthetican but they do not go into as much depth with it. If I were to become and Esthetician I could choose to work at either a spa/salon or go into dermatology. I need some advice, I am 20 years old what job what probably be the best choice? What are some pros and cons for the both of them, & which one do you think has a higher pay? I know I would have to build up clients but what do you think?

please help me write this agreement, on a little booth i am going to rent with a friend ?

Hi! I need help, I am goint to rent this little booth from a hair salon, with a girl I meet at the school, we just finish school and got our licenses, on esthetician's but i just meet her a few months, she wants to do everything together ordering products, share clients, I dont want to do that, I just want to use the booth 3 days a week, book my own clients, I dont want to mix our money our clients, as of now we do not have clients, I want to work independently from her to avoid problems, both of us are new at this, also the salon is lending us the equipment, and I hear she was saying to another girl, that she could lend her the key for one day, for free, I was like o my God, this equipment is not ours, she canot give the key to another person, she is very nice she found the place, so i am very embarrass to tell her that is not the right way so I want to do a little agreement, basically saying, that we will work independently, that we are both responsible for the equipment that is from the salon, that the key for the booth cannot be lend to nobody else, that we will get one week end for her and one for me, that we will book our own appointments. we will not share money, please help me write that agreement a little better, my English, is not to good... I just want to avoid problems, please dont send me to the attorney no money for that now..... Thank you

Confused about what to do in life.ADVICE NEEDED ASAP!?

Don't get me wrong I haven't done anything but these things don't forefill me I am a hairstylist (I was practically raised in the beauty industry-Mother owns a salon so thats how I got started but I don't love it.), an esthetician (I thought I would like it but know I only use my license to work at a few hair shows a year- no more than 4 usually), I got an associate's degree (yet I do not use it), I am currently in culinary school (but after 4 months I realized that being a chef is not for me). I want to be successful but I also want to do something I am passionate about. Problem is: I AM NOT SURE WHAT IT IS?!?! I plan to drop out of the culinary program in APRIL 2011 (so i won't waste my money n time anymore-plus financial aid paid until APRIL 2011 so thats the main reasion I want to wait till April). What would u do if u were in my shoes? I am not married (just a bf), nor do I have kids, so I really don't have an excuse not 2 do something with my life. Please someone that is wise give me advice (my family says i am too confused :/ ) that makes sense. Please no kiddy comments.Serious replies only!

If an esthetician were to go to college, what would be the best major?
I know that estheticians only need certification and do not need college, but ... any college is better than none in general??

So besides esthetician training (and anything similar like hair, makeup, laser, etc. furthering in this field)...what major would most benefit an esthetician?? (and minor)....

Learning spanish to communicate with more ppl?
Psychology to understand them?
English for clear comm and self marketing skills and possibly a beauty writer for esthetics?
Graphic Design to do own site and everything?
Chemistry or pre-med stuff to understand sciences and skin?

What exactly is an esthetician?

I am looking into going to beauty school and was wondering if i were to take an esthetician program course what i would be learning? Is hair design different?
