Working in Skin Care?

I would like to be an Esthetician, but I'm having a hard time devoting time and school into something that would only get me hardly k a year. For a career, that's not a lot. I looked into Medical Esthetician, but I don't believe they make much more.

Note: I'm NOT willing to becoming a Dermatologist - I was set on that path and decided that surgeries and the deeper part of skin is not something I want to do.

So does anyone have any ideas? Or experience in being an Esthetician and have any tips on how to make more money? Does it require more education or where you work? Developing more skills?

Thanks for your input in advance,
Shayla
@Jos: Thanks for your wonderful detail in that explanation. I really appreciate how you took the time out of your day to write that beautiful work of art down. :\ Lol

beauty school license advice: cosmetology or esthetician ?

i am a college student witht he summer off. im looking into beauty schools.. in my area. the first one i looked at was an estetician school. but i found out about another school that does cosmetology (mainly hair)..
i cant decide which license would be more beneficial for me..
i think the cosmotology schools sounds liek more fun.. but the estetician school seems like more financially sound.. and.. more serious..
because u study anatomy.. chemistry etc.

for a college student... what would u recommend a license in?
my parents are offering to let me do one school part time this summer..
to see if i like the career.. while i major in psychology in college.
any thoughts on what to pick?

Is there a facial peel that you can buy in a drugstore that is NOT a chemical peel?

I know about the Neutrogena chemical peel that is a strong chemical solution that you wash off your face. I’m looking for the peel that you literally peel off your face like you skin is coming off.

My aunt can do those lazer and needle things for me 4 FREE snice shes a esthetician and has her own bussines. I hav to wait a couple more years to do it but should I really do it? What can I do right now to make it better? My mom told me I shouldn't shave because it will eventually grow thicker/darker. So...HELP! I just want to do something about it before I get it done in a couple of years.

Is a cosmetology license valid in all states?

I'm planning on going to Cosmetology school in Texas, but I'm originally from California. If I ever decided to move back or move somewhere else, will my Texas Cosmetology License be valid throughout the United States or will I have to attend school all over again?
