What does it take to become a makeup artist?

I am looking into several careers in art and makeup artistry definately seems like an option. Does anyone know how to become one or where to start? Tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I want to become a MAKEUP ARTIST, not a cosmetologist or esthetician. Later, I might be interested in doing hair or nails. I'm not really into specialty skin care or anything of that sort.

Can people who are currently attending highschool recieve pell grants for beauty school?

I know you have to be 16 to get into beauty school, but can you recieve federal aid to go to beauty school while attending highschool at the same time? && yes I meet the circumstance to revieve a pellgrant, i just dont know how soon i can revieve that. I live in Northwest Arkansas btw. If someone from that area knows thatd be really helpful.

Esthetician?

I've always dreamed of becoming a dermatologist but honestly, I'm not great in school. I get decent grades but they don't stand out. Therfore, I've been thinking about becoming an Esthetician. It's a non-medical field of skin care, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong? But isn't the difference in salary between Esthetician and Dermatologist HUGE? I want to make a good living. Under cosmetology, Estheticians make the most. But compared to Dermatology, how much? I'm 13 and I want to attend Beauty School ASAP. I plan on being in NJ until I graduate college and all. After, I'm planning to move in LA, Cali. Is anyone here an Esthetician? Is it hard? How's the pay? How much education to do you need? Any medical experience needed? Ect? THANKS SO MUCH.<3

I am presently going to be attending school.. later in life. Middle aged. I have a question for anyone who is presently in these careers. Should I stick to just cosmetology.. I will be including semi permanent lashes as well later on.. or ... Should I add on Esthetician in addition... or would that be too much and of little use? I personally... enjoy the hair styling/coloring ..make up and semi permanent eye lash areas... which will make me plenty money. However...I thought it might be good to have more. But.. I am really not into the skin contact/issues associated.

Just thought.. I might be more marketable. But.. there is such a thing as over doing it.. and taking too much.. and not being able to utilze it all.

How well does a chemical peel work for removing freckles?

I have them all over my face... they're not too dark but I'm just wondering if a chemical peel works well.
